Grading

Standards Based
We use standards based grading.  For each content area, students are assessed on specific Common Core State Standards (English/Language Arts and Mathematics) and/or North Carolina Essential Standards (Science and Social Studies) objectives that have been taught.

Numerical Scale (1-4)
Level 1 means insufficient performance of targeted grade level standards.
Level 2 means needs support to meet targeted grade level standards.
Level 3 means student demonstrated proficiency of targeted grade level standards.
Level 4 means student extends targeted grade level standards.

The Letter "P"
A paper with a “P” means practice, it is not being assessed.
